Open House At The Club House

On the 12th of August the club invites its members to attend the club house for an Open Forum come along and tell us whether if what you think of the club and the direction it is taking.

The only time we get together id during the AGM and at the clubs meetings during the season, the AGM is to formal what with the chairman’s repost and the election of the committee and at our meetings we are all concentrating on our own little part of the meeting and never seem to have a get together, well now’s the chance.

There will be nothing formal no agenda just come along and have a good chin wag, we hear rumours of what the riders think of the club now’s your chance to have your say.

There is also the incentive of Pie & Peas and your first drink is free, now you can’t say fairer than that.

If you are going to attend please email the club at nemcrc1962@yahoo.co.uk or inform one of the committee when we are at Croft

Race Numbers

Over the last few years SOME rider’s race numbers have dropped below the standards that are required.

In the 2010 handbook page 281 section 14.7 it lists the minimum number and background sizes.

The old argument we have transponders does not hold water, as riders you owe it to officials, marshals, and the paying spectators to be able to identify riders.

Correct size numbers and backgrounds must be attached to the front and sides of the streamlining only not on seats.

The side numbers can be either fitted middle side or even better lower side.

Lower side helps to identify a faller by marshals who may be running towards the rider and can report the number to the sector marshal, who in turn can calls up race control, it can also help spectators identify a rider who is banked over.

If the streamlining is such that it will not allow the minimum sizes, plates should be made to size and attached to the streamlining.

To sum up lets work together to achieve the standards set down by the ACU.
