North East Motorcycle Racing Club

 MARSHAL’S POST

That was some season. It had everything, excellent racing, good grids, fine weather and not a hint of being short of marshals. That is down to you lot out there putting the “friendly aspect “back into this club. We had a good response in the winter for new marshals and it was nice to see so many coming to our meetings at Croft but we still need to attract more of you to come up to East Fortune. Those who do go will tell you what a great place it is and the locals are so friendly. This in part is down to Davey Paton, Bob Davies and the team of marshals they have up there.I would like to thank everyone who was involved in the medical emergency we had at Croft in August, from the marshals on scene to the doctors and medical team who were all a credit to themselves. The last news I have is that Lyndsay is doing well. Just to point out, you don’t always have to believe what you hear as sometimes it comes from ill informed sources namely people who weren’t even there.

On a personal note I would like to thank Tim Reeves and Patrick Farrance for the hospitality shown to the children of Portland School at our meeting at Croft in August.  Tim and Patrick were very giving with their time to show the children the outfits and spent time having photographs taken and ensured each child received an autographed poster.  For those not aware, the club have adopted the school as our chosen charity.  Thanks must also go to Tracey and the staff at Croft, for making this event happen.

I would like to thank all the riders and teams who have given us a fantastic years racing, all the scrutineers for their efforts, especially at E/F in October. Thanks must also go to Sharon and Ken for the work they do behind the scenes to make the marshals feel welcome and looked after, at all our meetings.

Thanks must go to the marshals of NEMCRC and Melville Club for the kind donation of their ‘raffle prizes’ to the Kenny Edwards fund at our meeting in October after Kenny suffered a terrible injury at Knockhill a few weeks earlier.  Our best wishes go to Kenny and his family and NEMCRC wish him a speedy recovery.

We are progressing well with the dates for next year and I will send out information as soon as I get confirmation. Some of you will already know that we are looking at a date at Knockhill and this will be announced as soon as possible when we agree when it will be.

I hope to get acceptance forms out by the end of the year and included will be a form to be used to give vital information about each marshal this being learnt from our experience at the meeting in August. It will be voluntary and all the information will be data protected and only used in the case of emergencies.

I hope to see you all in the New Year and wish you all a very

Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
